BizAdapt — the Business Adaptation Grant — is an Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) scheme helping Singapore-registered businesses adapt operations and strengthen supply chains in response to tariffs and shifting trade conditions. From 1 April 2026, support rose to up to 70% for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs, with an overall cap of S$100,000 per enterprise across the two-year scheme period. The scheme launched on 7 October 2025 and applications close on 6 October 2027. It funds four activity types: FTA and trade compliance advisory, legal and contractual advisory, supply chain optimisation and market diversification advisory, and manufacturing reconfiguration support. Applications go through the Business Grants Portal using Corppass, and processing typically takes 8 to 12 weeks.

Three things that catch people out, stated up front:

  1. This is not a digital marketing grant. BizAdapt covers trade compliance, legal advisory, supply chain and manufacturing reconfiguration — not websites, advertising or content marketing. Those sit under PSG.
  2. No retrospective applications. If a contract has been signed, a deposit paid, or work started, the application is rejected.
  3. Third parties cannot apply or manage it for you. Corporate service providers included — the company must do this itself.

Funding Rates and Cap

  • Period: 7 Oct 2025 – 31 Mar 2026 | SMEs: Up to 50% | Non-SMEs: Up to 30%
  • Period: 1 Apr 2026 – 6 Oct 2027 | SMEs: Up to 70% | Non-SMEs: Up to 50%
  • Cap: S$100,000 per enterprise across the two-year scheme period
  • The higher rates apply only to support approved from 1 April 2026
  • Reconfiguration audit fees (from S$200) are supported up to 50%, capped at S$500, within the same S$100,000 cap

The rate increase came through Budget 2026's Business Refresh Package.

Who Qualifies

Baseline requirements:

  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singapore citizens and/or Permanent Residents
  • For-profit businesses only. Non-profits, societies, venture capital firms, investment holding companies and government-linked entities are excluded

Additional conditions that matter:

  • All activities require exports to, or operations in, overseas markets
  • Activities 2 to 4 also require tariff impact
  • Activity 4 requires ownership of at least 51% of the manufacturing operations being reconfigured

The quick test: if your business operates entirely within Singapore with no exports or overseas operations, BizAdapt is not for you — look at PSG or other schemes instead.

The Four Activity Types

Each application covers one activity only, and group applications are not allowed.

Activity 1: FTA and trade compliance advisory

Understanding and using free trade agreements, rules of origin, tariff classification and compliance requirements.
Must use a pre-approved vendor.

Activity 2: Legal and contractual advisory

Contract adjustments and supplier renegotiation arising from tariff changes.
Must use a pre-approved vendor. Tariff impact required.

Activity 3: Supply chain optimisation and/or market diversification advisory

Redesigning supply chains, or opening new overseas markets to spread risk.
Must use a pre-approved vendor. Tariff impact required.

Activity 4: Reconfiguration support

Covers only logistics and inventory holding costs tied to relocating manufacturing or changing suppliers.

Explicitly not covered: equipment, factory rental, staff relocation.

Vendor choice is open for this activity. Tariff impact required, plus at least 51% ownership of the manufacturing operations being reconfigured.

The Application Process

  1. Choose the activity, and for activities 1–3, select a pre-approved vendor
  2. Prepare documents — three years of financial statements, evidence of overseas activity and tariff impact, and a vendor quotation
  3. Apply on the Business Grants Portal using Corppass. Processing typically takes 8–12 weeks
  4. Accept the Letter of Offer if approved
  5. Complete the project within 24 months. Changes require a change request before the project end date
  6. Complete the audit by an EnterpriseSG-approved auditor
  7. Submit a single final claim within three months of project completion
  8. Receive payment via PayNow or GIRO, typically within about 14 working days of approval

Four Restrictions Worth Planning Around

1. It works on reimbursement — you fund it upfront.
Companies must pay for the project themselves and claim afterwards. For cash flow planning this matters: on a S$100,000 project you need the full amount available now, with up to S$70,000 coming back months later.

2. No retrospective applications.
Signed a contract, paid a deposit, or started work? Rejected. The order has to be: apply → approval → contract and commence.

3. You cannot apply too far ahead.
Applications must be submitted no more than six months before the project start date.

4. No third-party handling.
Third parties, including corporate service providers, cannot apply for or manage the grant on a company's behalf. If someone offers to handle the application for a percentage of the award, that is not how this scheme works.

How BizAdapt Differs From the Other Schemes

Singapore's grant landscape is easy to confuse:

  • Scheme: BizAdapt | Purpose: Tariff response, trade compliance, supply chain, manufacturing reconfiguration | SME rate: Up to 70% (from 1 Apr 2026) | Cap: S$100,000 (two-year period)
  • Scheme: PSG | Purpose: Pre-approved digital solutions: website, e-commerce, CRM, some digital marketing packages | SME rate: Up to 50% | Cap: S$30,000 per solution
  • Scheme: MRA | Purpose: Overseas market expansion | SME rate: Up to 70% (1 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2029) | Cap: Per scheme rules
  • Scheme: EDGE | Purpose: Launching 2H 2026, streamlining PSG, EDG and MRA | SME rate: Per official announcement | Cap: S$100,000/year

In practice:

  • Website, e-commerce, CRM, digital marketing → PSG (up to 50%, capped at S$30,000, through a pre-approved vendor on GoBusiness, no retrospective applications; EnterpriseSG requires companies to apply directly and charges no application fee)
  • Overseas market expansion → MRA
  • Tariff-affected, adjusting supply chain or trade compliance → BizAdapt
  • Once EDGE launches, it streamlines the first three under a S$100,000 annual cap and opens to non-SMEs; existing schemes remain open until then

For Companies Expanding Into Singapore

Singapore's Economic Development Board reported more than 1,200 Chinese regional headquarters added in 2025, up 37% year on year, with S$2.93 billion in fixed asset investment — roughly eight times the prior year. A meaningful share of those have manufacturing or trade operations, which is exactly BizAdapt's target.

But there is a sequencing point worth making. BizAdapt addresses supply chain and trade compliance. It does not address the problem most newly landed companies actually hit first: local buyers have no idea you exist. Singapore B2B buying runs on online verification — searching the company name, reading the website, checking LinkedIn, looking for local case work — and none of that falls within any trade-focused grant.

Running both tracks in parallel is the sensible structure: trade and supply chain through BizAdapt, local visibility through what PSG covers. If you are still at the incorporation or work pass stage, both are premature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can BizAdapt fund a website or digital marketing?
No. BizAdapt covers trade compliance advisory, legal advisory, supply chain and market diversification advisory, and logistics and inventory costs for manufacturing reconfiguration. Websites, e-commerce systems, CRM and some digital marketing packages fall under PSG (up to 50%, capped at S$30,000).

Q2: My company only trades within Singapore. Can I apply?
No. All activities require exports to, or operations in, overseas markets, and activities 2 to 4 additionally require tariff impact. Purely domestic operations do not qualify.

Q3: How long does it take, and when does the money arrive?
Processing typically takes 8–12 weeks. After approval, the project must be completed within 24 months, with a single final claim submitted within three months of completion. Following the audit, payment is usually made via PayNow or GIRO within about 14 working days of approval. Remember it is reimbursement-based — you fund the project first.

Q4: Can I hire someone to handle the application?
No. Third parties, including corporate service providers, cannot apply for or manage the grant on a company's behalf. Any firm offering to do so for a percentage is not operating within the scheme's rules. The company submits through the Business Grants Portal using Corppass.

Q5: When does it close, and is there still time?
Applications close 6 October 2027. Given 8–12 weeks of processing, a 24-month completion window, and the rule that applications cannot be submitted more than six months before the project start date, now is a reasonable point to start preparing if you have a qualifying project. Just keep the order right: apply first, sign and start afterwards.
